Spring Soccer

I decided to enroll Allison in a city Spring Soccer league. She's never played any team sports before, so we thought we'd give it a try. She's on a Pre-K / Kindergarten team -- so all the kids are either 5 or 6.

Allison is easily identifiable in the pictures below. Just look for the pink shin gaurds, or the #10 on the back of the jersey ( of course, you can only see half of the number 10 once she tucks in her shirt -- can't they order smaller shirt sizes!!! Jeez!)

Here's Allison being directed by her coach. This happens frequently, as she has no idea how to play the game . . . even after several weekly practices and "coaching" from us.

Allison playing "defender," I think. I never played soccer myself, so . . . I'm not much help either. Oh well.

The end of the game "line up". She likes this part.

Allison and our friend/neighbor, Aile, after the game.

The most important part of the game: the drink and snack afterwards!!

Sarah at the game: wearing a head band to keep her ears warm (there was, of course, the usual WIND that always accompanies a remotely warm & sunny Spring day in Missouri).

And Here's a GREAT pic of Matt holding 6 1/2 month old (at at the time) Kimball, and pregnant with our 4th child, due in September. :)

No pictures of me of course, since I was the one holding the camera the whole time.

Did I mention that this was the same evening of the bad weather and tornadoes that we had last week? Yeah, so far "spring soccer" hasn't exactly been my idea of fun. We've had more games cancelled due to rain than we've actually played. And the games and practices we HAVE had occurred on very nasty weather days anyway. (mostly VERY windy)

Tonight is a makeup game day, but, yet again, it's questionable whether it will happen because of thunderstorms in the forecast.

Loved the pics! We just signed Claire up for soccer but it doesn't start until August (and goes through Dec!!!!) Claire is so excited and now after seeing these pics, it gets me anxious too. Was fun to see a picture of Aile too.

Hey, BTW, Sarah looks way cute in that bright sweater! Man she is so "grown up". Makes me miss KC and you all! Enjoy soccer!!

Ahhh... Soccer with a youngster, or 'Bunchball' with a youngster. Katelyn and Kristen did the same thing. Katelyn was much more concerned with what she looked like than how to play the game. They get over it, although all my kids love the treats most of all.
